What is ESL Podcast?
A podcast is an audio file that you download from the Internet. After you download it, you can listen to it on your computer or on an MP3/portable music player (for example, an iPod or iRiver). You can subscribe to a podcast so that it is delivered to you automatically each day, just like a newspaper.
btw#1: do not have to subscribe to listen...
btw#2: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ is also a good resource for audio-practicing )))

one of the biggest bookstores
"Because I love bookstores. Spending afternoons wandering the shelves. Happening across great books I didn't even know existed. But it's an experience I never found online. Online bookstores are wonderful. They've got amazing prices, huge selections, and they're open all the time. If you know exactly what you want, they're perfect. But somehow I kept coming back to the bookstore just to browse. Zoomii is my attempt to bring online as much of the real bookstore experience as possible.

Academic Phrasebank
The Academic Phrasebank is a general resource for academic writers. It aims to provide you with some of the phraseological "nuts and bolts" of writing under the headings to the left. It was designed primarily with international students whose first language is not English in mind. However, if you are a native speaker writer, you may still find parts of the material helpful.
The phrases can be used simply to assist you in thinking about your writing, or they can be pasted into your own work where this is appropriate. In most cases a certain amount of creativity will be necessary when you do this. It is also possible to transfer some of the words used in particular phrases to others. The phrases are content neutral and generic in nature; in using them, therefore, you are not stealing other people's ideas and this does not constitute plagiarism.

A JOKE
There was a Russian, an American , and a Blonde. And they were talking about their country's accomplishments. The Russian said " We were the first in space ". Everyone clapped. The American said "well we were the first on the moon.". Everyone clapped. The Blonde said " Well, we are going to be the first on the sun" Everyone seemed puzzled, they all said " Well how are you going to do that ???" The blonde replied cheerfully " We'll go at night !! "
A WISE old owL
A WISE old owl sat on an oak;
the more he saw the less he spoke
the less he spoke the more he heard
why aren't we like that wise old bird?

the less he spoke the more he heard
why aren't we like that wise old bird?

THINK :)
"Быстроногий Ахиллес никогда не догонит черепаху, если в начале движения черепаха находилась впереди на некотором расстоянии от него".
"God is all-powerful, or as theologians put it, “omnipotent”; there is nothing that he cannot do. This is part of the definition of “God”.
So can God create a stone that is so heavy that he cannot lift it? Either he can or he can’t."
Is there a riddle stuck in your brain, and you cannot solve it? Be happy! It is a positive proof that you have a brain. a riddle stuck in your brain, and you cannot solve it? Be happy! It is a positive proof that you have a brain ;)

"Goldilocks and the Three Bears"
"This famous wicked little tale
Should never have been put on sale
It is a mystery to me
Why loving parents cannot see
That this is actually a book
About a brazen little crook..."

Sharpen your listening skills/Are you listening……?
Like everyone else, the Brainready team often gets accused of not listening. It’s not that we don’t try; we just have so many thoughts running through our head and can’t focus on everything.
So how can we all avoid distractions, get rid of the brain fog and stop getting lost in our own thoughts?
Attentive listening is not only a skill, but also a process that can actually help focus your thoughts and stop your mind wandering.
Like your parents used to say – “pay attention’.
Attention is the cognitive process of selectively concentrating on one aspect of the environment while ignoring other things.
The goal of attentive listening is to improve your understanding by focusing on what’s really been said and what they mean. It’s important to listen completely and understand the real meaning first, before reacting. In addition, attentive listeners have relational goals like giving a positive impression, advancing the relationship, or demonstrating care....
